HDMI Displays

The system is able to support any HDMI compatible TV or computer monitor with a 19:6 aspect ratio (normal, HD, Full HD or 4k screens) in landscape (Horizontal) or CW Portrait (Vertical) or CCW Portrait using any of the media streaming devices below (starts at $30 US, CAN$ 69) with the companion  Cura ™ TV application, available from their App Stores. You can use the remotes from these devices to action simple controls such as pause, previous/next and more info etc.

If HDMI CRC support is enabled on the display power contact can be managed via the Streaming device.

This is the preferred display support, as the application and remotes give users more control and feedback.

As many display options as possible

Our goal is to enable as many display options as possible, in terms of device types, screen size and appearance. This has largely been achieved. CURA^® is now compatible and can display on mobile phones and tablets, (iPhone, iPad, Android and Fire), TV’s with Google TV, Android TV or Fire TV built in, and can use the HDMI port of any TV or computer monitor or display in conjunction with media streaming devices such as Apple TV, Google Chromecast TV, Android TV, and Fire TV sticks or boxes, the later start as low as US $30.

The CURA^® management application is compatible with all the touch screen devices above and any PC, or device that utilizes a modern web browser.

In most cases the overall display quality is excellent. The ability to mount or orientate these displays in either a horizontal or vertical orientation can really make a great improvement to the enjoyment of images. However, in many cases, it’s also desirable to have displays and frames that can fit into a location’s décor, and not look like TV’s stuck on a wall.

At the moment the majority of the displays we support have an aspect ratio of 16:9 which are the now majority of available displays, but CURA^® does also support the older standard 4:3 and 5:4 screens and more specialized 21:9 and 1:1 (soon) screens.

Below you will find many options, from just plugging in a TV to off-the-shelf digital frames. We also have some recommendations of TV or computer monitors that can be easily and with a small amount of cost and effort that can be made into amazing looking small, medium and large size digital frames that do not look like TV’s or monitors that are just stuck on a wall. i.e. the use of low profile, small edge screens that you can put a 1.2 in or 2in wood frame around and mounts it 2in off a wall can make a huge difference in the appeal.  Bear in mind that you still must deal with the power cable(s). This can be solved by using thin 5 amp lamp cords, using recessed power outlet kits or get an electrician install recessed power sockets inside your walls.
