inc

    •  Curator Technologies was created by founders Soumen Das and Alex Nowak to help enable more opportunities for everyone to have more fun and enjoyment of their images, preferred art and other media in today’s digital world.

Specifically, we are trying to solve and innovate in 3 areas:

      1. Enable and easily manage the use of all types and sizes of quality digital displays or frames across brands and manufacturers in homes or buildings.
      2. Provide easy to use applications and cost-effective services that enable as many consumers as possible to manage, display and enjoy their personal captured memories (images or videos) or their preferred art or photography on their digital displays.
      3. Provide the capability for new value opportunities and business models to photographers, artists and other creative professionals that could take advantage and add value to the above capabilities.

We also believe that in solving the first two problems of easy display management and easy image collection management, we can create a new added value channels of delivery for photographers, studios and other content providers to their clients.

Even though the traditional print and frame photography models are ebbing fast, the theoretical move to digital enjoyment remains challenging. Most consumers are insisting on digital delivery and lower costs, but what they do with those captured memories usually gets stuck on their phones or on a USB drive.

The rapid availability of high quality and inexpensive digital screens, TV’s and purpose-built digital frames gives us and our customers a new opportunity enjoy many more of their memories in a new and dynamic way. However, from a consumer’s point of view there remains a few obstacles before this can become a ubiquitous reality in their (or our homes).

      1. Replacing the multiple types, sizes, and locations of the traditional model of enjoyments, such as photo prints, framed prints of various sizes and photo albums with new digital means in challenging. The good news is that there are now feasible digital replacements in almost all categories and sizes. E.g. physical photo albums are replaced by digital photo albums presented on phones, tablets or PC’s. Large and small format high quality photo frames, monitors, or TV’s are now readily available and affordable. The bad news is that almost every type of display has its own setup, software and means to control what when and how images are to be displayed.
      2. The sheer number of images and choices of our digitally imaged lives make the decisions on what to display, when and where almost overwhelming.
      3. The “ease of use” (or lack of) and mystery of competing cloud technologies and smart phone eco systems and how it all can work remains challenging for even the most tech. savvy among us.

We have made significant progress in solving A) with our CURA™ Cloud and companion CURA™ TV*1 applications we can now manage images and displays that have an HDMI interface (that means almost ALL TV’s, computer monitors or displays with HDMI(full or mini) support.) We also support frames and devices that sync with Google Photos *2. We are working on more but this is a significant start and capability.

We are continuing to work on solving B) and C). The CURA™ Cloud application is built as what is called a progressive web application with a smart back-end system. It works across all formats, be it phone, tablet or PC ‘s across manufactures and environments, all it needs is a connection to the internet and a web browser.

*1 Requires a compatible Android TV device ( or Android TV built-in) such as Chromecast Google TV device that would be on a TV or plugs into a Displays HDMI port.

*2 Various level or support can be achieved with Displays or TV’s that are “Works with Google Photos” enabled -check our website for details.
