There are 2 easy options to load your photos from your iPhone or Android to CURA. You do need a Google photos account (if you don’t have one just create a new one for Free -for the first 15GB).
1. After linking a Google Photos account under Media Sources in the CURA app, just go to My Media and use the uploader, this will access your photo library on your phone (after you have given it permission) and you can upload single or multiple images into CURA and the Google Photos Library.
2. Alternatively, or in addition, install the Google Photos application from the App Store on your phone, use the same account as the one you link to CURA. You can then set the Google Photos application to Backup & Sync all your images from your phone; you can use the slightly better than original quality setting. Unfortunately, on iPhones you cannot choose which folders to backup it will process all your device photos and videos.
a) Once this has synced it will then allow you to have access to these photos in Google Photos and can then be synced with CURA and your displays.
b) At the moment, you will need to create an album in Google Photos (either on the app or online) and add the images you want in CURA to that album. (We will soon make photos not in albums available)
c) You can use Googles smart and auto creating albums features (e.g. people faces or pets etc.) to automatically select and send images to CURA. Note: I have seen Google take a few days to organize and start offering smart features such as face recognition etc. depending on how many phots are backed up the first time.
d) Cool trick is to set up an auto updating album in Google of the using the people or pet recognition and flagging this album to link to a collection in CURA. This will automatically add new images to a CUAR collection that could be used in a room or display.
e) In all the above cases CURA does automatically scans and updates for any images changes in you selected Google photos albums every 20 mins or so and updates your CURA media library /collections appropriately.
